Prayers for Healing

An Invitation to Christ:

Come, our Light, and illumine our darkness.

Come, our Life, and revive us from death.

Come, our Physician, and heal our wounds.

Come, Flame of divine love, and burn up the thorns of our sins, kindling our hearts with the flame of thy love,

Come, our King, sit upon the throne of our heart and reign there,

For thou alone art our King and our Lord.

AMEN.

God of compassion, source of life and health: strengthen and relieve your servant, Bob and give your power of healing to those who minister to his needs, that Bob may find help in weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus who healed the sick and is the physician of our souls. AMEN

Lord, You invite all who are burdened to come to You. Allow Your healing hand to heal Bob. Touch his soul with Your compassion for others. Touch his heart with Your courage and infinite love for all. Touch his mind with Your wisdom, that his mouth may always proclaim Your praise. Teach Bob to reach out to You in his need, and help him to lead others to You by his example. Most loving Heart of Jesus, bring him health in body and spirit that he may serve You with all his strength. Touch gently this life which You have created, now and forever. Amen.

Lord Jesus, You know how Bob feels today, his secret fears and pains. We pray for healing in whatever way You know will help him. We trust in Your power. You proclaimed God's reign by curing the sick, comforting and strengthening those who were sad, and giving new freedom to all who accepted You. Guide also, those who help in Your healing work: doctors, nurses, chaplains, and all who extend Your care. Together we do the work of Your Father. We pray in Your Spirit, Lord Jesus. Amen.

O God who are the only source of health and healing, the spirit of calm and the central peace of this universe, grant to Bob such a consciousness of your indwelling and surrounding presence that he may receive health and strength and peace, through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Lord, look upon Bob with eyes of mercy, may your healing hand rest upon him, may your lifegiving powers flow into every cell of his body and into the depths of his soul, cleansing, purifying, restoring Bob to wholeness and strength for service in your Kingdom. Amen.
